Lagandorain is a working croft and is home to my pedigree black Hebridean sheep. Iona Hostel is tucked unobtrusively into the landscape, and out of sight of the cottage. It has been awarded four stars by Visit Scotland. The cottage (on the left of the picture) adjoins the crofthouse and is simply and comfortably furnished. Sleeping four, there is a twin bedroom, bathroom and kitchen downstairs and the sitting room and twin bedroom upstairs. the sitting room has an excellent collection of books and what must be one of the best views on the island. The cottage is centrally heated (five hours a day) with back-up electric fires in each room. All bedding and towels are provided. |
